Two Year 10 students excelled as chefs by competing in the FutureChef ‘Young Chef of the Year’ competition at Yeovil College. The competition was judged by two professional chefs who gave valuable advice and expertise to both students.
Billy and Katie were up against several schools in the South West. Their task was to plan and produce a two-course meal within 90 minutes, on a £7 budget. Both students created stunning plates of food and should be incredibly proud of themselves.
Katie made ‘Chicken Ramen followed by Chocolate Orange Cakes and Orange Cream’ and Billy made ‘Chicken and Pesto Calzone and Caesar Salad followed by Chocolate and Cherry Mousse’.
Both Katie and Billy were a credit to St Dunstan’s and should use this experience to develop their cooking skills and techniques further. I am very proud of what they have achieved and look forward to them competing in more cooking competitions in the future.
