In 2021 GCSE and A Level examinations have been cancelled and grades are being determined using the new Teacher Assessed Grade (TAG) process, this is different to the Centre Assessed Grade (CAG) process used in 2020.

The publication dates of exam results have changed as a result of the cancellation of exams. Year 11 Results Day will now be on Thursday 12th  August.

You can access key documents below relating to the process including:  Ofqual guidance, Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) guidance, The Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership and Centre TAG policy and our assessment timelines.

Exam Access for Assessments

All Exam Access Arrangements have been put in place suitable for the task.

Extra time is built into assessments; Word processors are provided in-class or separate rooms; readers and prompts are provided by the class teacher or students have chosen to use a reading pen; students who require scribes are supported.

Any Exam Access unable to be covered has been noted, and marks adjusted accordingly.

Moderation of the evidence will take place both in school across all grade boundaries and across the MAT before the Teacher Assessed grades are finalised.

Moderation will be completed where indicated on the subject documents.

All teachers of Year 11  will receive standardisation training for marking assessments and training on how to make objective judgements using information from Ofqual and exam boards. Assessments will be moderated by a second and senior teacher to ensure assessments will be marked accurately and objectively.

The Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership Appeals Policy will be published here, in due course.
