Welcome to St Dunstan’s School and thank you for taking the time to find out more about us. At St Dunstan’s we provide a high quality of education and an environment that supports, nurtures and challenges students to fulfil their potential. We ensure students are prepared with the skills, morals and qualifications to allow them to progress to further education and to become valued members of the community. We are deeply proud that our students have made excellent progress over many years in their GCSE examinations; regularly above that of other local secondary schools.
We continue to build on our successes and progress as a member of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership. This group of schools work together as a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in North East Somerset and Somerset; schools have thrived on this partnership and we are delighted to be part of the Somerset Hub along with our friends at Preston and Buckler’s Mead in Yeovil as well as collaborating regularly with schools in Bath, Midsomer Norton and Radstock. St Dunstan’s School benefits from sharing of expertise and resources along with other schools in the MAT.
In July 2018 the school was judged as 'Good' by Ofsted. In a glowing report inspectors said 'The headteacher, trust and senior leaders have transformed St Dunstan's, it provides a good quality of education and students are safe'. They are 'highly ambitious for the school, each pupil and the community.' For further details of the Ofsted report click here
Our School is a warm and welcoming place where students are happy and enthusiastic. It truly is a community where staff and students have positive relationships built on mutual respect and ambition for everyone to enjoy school and achieve the very best outcomes possible. Students show pride in their work and constantly strive to be the best they can.
At the heart of everything we do are our core values – Truth, Resilience, Ambition, Community and Kindness. These values weave through our school life to help everyone stay on TRACK. In tandem with our values are our three simple rules – Do as you are asked first time, treat everyone with respect and give 100% effort to everything you do.
I am very proud to be the Headteacher of St Dunstan’s School and look forward to sharing our success with you. I know our staff and students share my pride in St Dunstan’s School; Mr Williams, our CEO, refers to St Dunstan’s as a ‘shining gem of a school’ and I am sure, when you visit us, you will understand why.
I look forward to meeting you.
